Alex Nguyen Tennis

        Hey everyone, my name is Alex Nguyen, and I am the head coach and founder of Alex Nguyen Tennis.  I've been playing since 1998, and coaching since 2005.  Students that have been with me can be found both in Northern California and Southern California where I've taught privately and for facilities such as The La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club, The Barnes' Tennis Facility, and Youth League Tennis in San Diego. 

        My passion for teaching tennis must have started when I was taking lessons myself.  I had gone through 4 coaches over 5 years.  A lot of them were terrible coaches - arriving late and leaving early, no sense of progression in their coaching, lazy teaching style with blabbering taking up most of the lessons.  Finally, I decided to go off on my own and teach myself the game fully. From watching the pros, reading and watching videos, to constantly challenging myself to finding new ways and methods to excel my technique, I was able to learn how to play the way that I wanted to.  With the knowledge I had gained, complemented by my BioEngineering degree from UCSD, I set off to coach the game I loved.

       The journey I've taken as a coach has not ended yet, though.  Since the start, I have been constantly learning how to teach better, communicate better, and come up with innovative methods to convey information to the student.  It is my passion and a big part of my life that I wish to share with you. It would be my honor and pleasure to work with you on your tennis game.
